The Rockabilly Pirate Top

As promised, here’s the link to my latest make for the Minerva Crafts Blog, which I’m calling my Rockabilly Pirate Top, for obvious reasons! You can find my full write up of Simplicity 8342 here. It’s such a cute jersey top, and perfect for anyone with a little experience with knit fabrics who’s looking for a slightly more challenging make than a simple t-shirt. I’d love it if you could pop on over to the blog and let me know what you think, and whether you’d make one of these yourselves 🙂

Costing:

Okay, to me it was free thanks to the good folks at Minerva for sponsoring the post and sending me a lovely package of free fabric (woohoo!) but here’s the breakdown of what I would have paid:

Pattern: £8.95

Fabric: £10.99 per metre. Used 1m.

Notions: £6.99 for a metre of interfacing (I still have plenty left over), £0.39

Total cost: £27.32

I know that isn’t perhaps the cheapest make ever, but the pattern will get used again and again, so the overall cost will go down over time. Plus there’s enough interfacing there for probably about ten of these!

Okay, back to my current sewing project–yet another Tilly and the Buttons Cleo Dress. I’ll be back on the Minerva Crafts Blog next week, sharing a really belated July make: my Colette Crepe Dress. Here’s a sneak peek for you, modelled while on holiday in the beautiful South of France at the amazing hilltop town of Saint Paul de Vence:

Au revoir, mes amis!
