The Vintage Flowers Blouse

Hey everyone, I’m absolutely thrilled to finally be able to share this project with you, as today is my first post over on the Minerva Craft Blog!

B6217 Gertie blouse #7

It’s the B6217 Vintage Style Blouse by Gertie, and anyone following this blog knows I’m a Gertie fangirl, so this was bound to be a winner. I made it up in a gorgeous cotton voile kindly supplied by Minerva. Unfortunately, the colourway I used is currently out of stock, but there are two other colourways, both of which would make gorgeous summer clothing.

Costing:

Okay, to me it was free except for the £1.60 reel of thread (I thought I’d be using black which I have plenty of already, but it turned out to need a charcoal thread), but here’s the breakdown of what I would have paid:

Pattern: £8.95

Fabric: £6.99 per metre. Used 1.2m, so approximately £8.38

Notions: £7.99 for a metre of interfacing (I still have plenty left over!), £3.43 for buttons, £1.60 for thread

Total cost: £28.75

Perhaps not the cheapest project ever, but worth every penny in my book! I’ve been wearing this loads as it’s great to dress up or down, and feels so cool in the sun.

Head on over to the Minerva Craft Blog for an in-depth post about making this up, along with lots of pictures 🙂

Right, back to the sewing. Got to work some more on a toile for my next Minerva make. See you back here with a monthly round-up post on Tuesday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, peeps!
